Job Summary

Brightshores is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will assist with routine patient care activities, including:

  • Providing personal care and support to patients
  • Assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Helping patients with mobility and transfers
  • Assisting with meal preparation and serving
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to patients

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or a combination of relevant experience and education
  • Current CPR certification
  • Recent experience working in a healthcare facility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
