About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Assurance Manager to join our team at Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative. As a key member of our Assurance Services group, you will be responsible for managing client engagements and providing assurance and accounting services to owner-managed businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement Management: Manage client engagements by providing assurance and accounting services to owner-managed businesses, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Financial Management: Manage project financials, including budgets, work-in-progress, timely billing and collection, and variance recognition.
  • Quality and Risk Management: Work under tight deadlines, delivering quality work, and anticipating and resolving client issues in a timely manner.
  • Business Development: Generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm's expertise and services, as well as developing ideas and solutions.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor, train, and develop junior and senior staff, ensuring their growth and development within the firm.
  • Compliance and Governance: Comply with all confidentiality policies of the firm and applicable regulatory authorities.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 4 years of public accounting experience in the audit function.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises, IFRS, and Canadian corporate and personal tax.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge and application of relevant professional standards, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients as a trusted business advisor.
  • Organizational Skills: Organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting timelines.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with MS Office, CaseWare, and tax return software.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to effectively work with others in teams.
