Job Summary:

The K2I Program at York University is seeking a Program Mentor to support the planning and delivery of STEM programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. The successful candidate will design and deliver hands-on STEM activities, facilitate STEM research project activities, and provide mentorship in the Bringing STEM to Life: Work-Integrated Learning Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality STEM activities and programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12
  • Facilitate STEM research project activities and provide mentorship to students
  • Support the planning and delivery of STEM programming in the K2I Program
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement STEM education initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to students in the development of their STEM skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Current or recent undergraduate student in a STEM field
  • Experience working with youth in a STEM education setting
  • Previous experience working in a research lab is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership or mentorship role
  • Knowledge of STEM education principles and practices
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational programs and activities
