**Job Summary**

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental plans in collaboration with project teams. This includes providing expert advice on environmental issues related to projects, coordinating with on-site teams to implement corrective environmental actions, and supporting clients with environmental concerns and site visits.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and implement environmental plans in collaboration with project teams, including environmental protection plans, erosion control plans, waste management plans, and contaminated soil management plans.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on environmental issues related to projects.
  • Coordinate with on-site teams to implement corrective environmental actions.
  • Support clients with environmental concerns and site visits.
  • Verify subcontractors' contractual obligations and the accuracy of their work regarding environmental requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and write follow-up reports.
  • Maintain environmental performance indicators (non-conformities, spills, residual materials, best practices, etc.) and complete associated documentation.
  • Report any apparent deviations from requirements that may affect environmental obligations to the project team as soon as possible and assist in producing necessary regulatory reports.
  • Work with project teams to develop construction methodologies that minimize environmental impacts.
  • Conduct sampling as needed on construction sites, particularly in water, soil, noise, or air.
  • Educate and train subcontractors, colleagues, and project teams on environmental issues.
  • Collaborate on the production of monthly or other required environmental reports for the project.

**Requirements**

  • Hold a degree in environmental science, hygiene and safety, civil engineering, forestry, or water treatment, or a related field, or have relevant work experience.
  • Be resourceful and enjoy problem-solving.
  • Have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Have excellent written and spoken French language skills.
  • Be willing to travel to construction sites across Quebec.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset.
