Job Title: Instructor - Academic

U-TOP ACADEMY LTD. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor - Academic to join our team. As an Instructor - Academic, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality teaching materials and outlines for courses.
  • Administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress.
  • Prepare reports and conduct course and program evaluations.
  • Lead discussion groups and seminars, and provide assistance to students with special needs.
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory, shop, and field studies.

  • Provides physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps and elevators.

Support for Youths:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support youth employment.
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
Support for Veterans:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support Veterans.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans.
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
  • Assists with immediate transition needs, such as relocation and housing.
  • Offers workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition.
  • Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the civilian job market.
  • Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support Indigenous people.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
  • Provides cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
  • Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Participates in government or community programs that support mature workers.
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers.
  • Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
