About the Position


This exciting opportunity is for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our dynamic team at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, British Columbia.



Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including:




  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health needs




  • Developing and implementing personalized care plans to meet patients' unique needs




  • Providing education and support to patients and their families on disease management, healthy living, and wellness




  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication




  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance patient outcomes and experiences





Requirements


To be considered for this role, you must have:




  • A current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)




  • Completion of an approved gerontology course or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience




  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to residents who may have chronic diseases




  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology of common medical conditions, aging changes, polypharmacy, treatment protocols, and nursing interventions related to common diagnoses and specific care situations relevant to care of adults living in Long Term Care

Sechelt Hospital is an acute care, 46-bed facility located in Sechelt, British Columbia, serving over 30,000+ residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Our hospital provides a full range of services to the community, including emergency care, renal program-community dialysis units, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, birthing for low-risk pregnancies, and imaging services.

Location and Working Conditions


This position is based at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, British Columbia, and requires regular working hours with occasional evening shifts and weekends. The salary for this role is estimated to be around $52 per hour.
