Job Title: French Teacher

We are seeking a qualified French Teacher to join our team at THE CATHOLIC INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS OF NELSON DIOCESE. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French to students in a private school setting.

Job Summary:

The French Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities. The teacher will also be responsible for assessing student progress and providing feedback to students and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French to students in a private school setting
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Participate in educational conferences and teacher training workshops
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Advise students on course selection and on vocational and personal matters
  • Assign and correct homework
  • Develop course content
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops and symposia
  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
  • Prepare, administer and correct tests
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations and laboratory, shop and field studies
  • Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in French or a related field
  • Experience in teaching French to students in a private school setting
  • Ability to develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities
  • Ability to assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
