**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Your Independent Grocer. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of our cash office, managing direct reports, and providing exceptional customer service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• **Customer Service**: Provide top-notch customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

• **Cash Office Management**: Oversee the efficient running of the cash office, including managing cash handling, deposits, and cash losses.

• **Team Leadership**: Manage direct reports, delegate duties, and ensure front-end standards are met.

• **Analytical Skills**: Analyze reports to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions, including productivity reports, override reports, and journal logs.

• **Price Integrity**: Assist in time-file data management, price changes, and scan log procedures to ensure price integrity.

• **Store Administration**: Support the bookkeeper with store administration functions, including weekly accounting, invoice payment and reconciliation, bank statements, and GL inquiries.

• **Payroll**: Support the bookkeeper with payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on-time.

• **Loss Prevention**: Manage potential loss through buggy management, test orders, refund/override minimization, and other initiatives.

• **Cashier Support**: Coordinate cashier activities, act as a resource for cashiers, and troubleshoot simple issues while considering business priorities.

**Requirements:**

• **Availability**: Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the business.

• **Customer Service**: Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service.

• **Technical Knowledge**: Strong technical knowledge of all front-end operations.

• **Problem-Solving Skills**: Problem-solving skills, including responding to customer complaints and inquiries.

• **Issue Management**: Issue management skills, including time management, interpersonal skills, conflict management, information gathering skills, problem-solving, and team building skills.

• **Communication Skills**: Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening.
