Job Summary

The Logistics Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in the acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment for Med-Eng. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be able to prioritize work effectively, and have strong communication abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Procure and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary authorizations and available funds are met.
  • Evaluate and compare information regarding source of supply, price, quality, availability, terms, and conditions for various materials, supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Minimize the number of Goods-in-Transit (GWTs) between plants by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials according to Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Issue purchase orders to procure designated commodities and equipment, adhering to Med-Eng's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting in AX to ensure internal visibility of material status and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor contracts and orders, expediting delivery as needed and reconciling discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
  • Escalate disputes, delivery dates, material shortages, and other issues to the Strategic Supply Specialist for resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to individuals needing to procure materials, services, and supplies, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Commerce, Materials Management, or a related field.
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification is desirable.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a buyer, with knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of purchasing in the private sector.
  • Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently within procedural guidelines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to buy items of the right quantity and quality at the right price, at the right time, from the right source.
Salary Estimate:

The salary range for this position is approximately $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
