About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher Librarian to join our team at School District #35. As a Teacher Librarian, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational goals of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive library programs that promote literacy, research skills, and a love of reading.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in the use of library resources and technology.
  • Manage and maintain the library collection, including cataloging, processing, and weeding.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the library, including circulation, access, and use.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education (Elementary/Middle/Secondary) degree or equivalent training.
  • A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate or in progress.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out general oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.
  • Ability to determine, judge, and select an appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.
  • A major (18 credits) or diploma in Teacher-Librarianship.
  • Knowledge of modern information technologies and computerized resource center management systems.
