Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, and other financial transactions.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, conduct research on accounting issues, and document 'white papers' to support internal accounting assessments and positions.
  • Assess and maintain effective internal controls related to financial reporting to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
  • Train and develop staff on accounting policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent application throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as legal, tax, and treasury to address financial reporting issues and ensure alignment on financial matters.
  • Participate in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, or process improvements with accounting implications.
  • Effectively communicate financial information and accounting policies to senior management and external auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in accounting, with 5+ years specifically in technical accounting roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and experience in applying technical accounting principles to complex transactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with financial management systems to facilitate the accumulation and reporting of financial data on a timely basis.
