Design Engineer for Rotating Machinery and Equipment

CPC Pumps International Inc. is a leading industrial group within the Atlas Copco organization, serving customers with innovative technologies across various industries.

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Burlington, focusing on creating designs and technical drawings for rotating machinery and equipment.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other professionals to develop and improve product designs, as well as create detailed drawings for a wide range of machines, including pumps and skids.

Purpose and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings of machined components, welded fabrications, pipe layouts, and full assemblies of pumps in both SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Develop and release engineering documents, such as bills of materials and contract documents (outline drawings, sectionals, inspection, and test plans).
  • Review and update pump layouts, engineering documents, and drawings for conformity and errors.
  • Select materials and components based on project specifications.
  • Review contract requirements and customer specifications to ensure compliance with purchase orders, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend design engineering procedure changes and improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing/industrial field.
  • Experience with rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, motors, etc.) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with common industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API) is preferred.

The role involves working in a fast-paced office environment, requiring attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate should be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
