Job Description

Cullerton Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Burlington, ON. This is a permanent opportunity with our customer, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

The primary responsibility of this role is to create designs, drawings, and perform calculations to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects with minimal oversight. The successful candidate will utilize Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) to generate detailed equipment fabrication, spool assembly, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop detailed equipment skids using SolidWorks
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs meet manufacturing capabilities, serviceability, ease of assembly, and aesthetic appeal
  • Develop fabrication drawings in accordance with applicable standards
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Complete as-built drawing updates
  • Scrutinize drawings to ensure accuracy, appropriate materials, and proper manufacturing sequencing
  • Apply engineering principles to a variety of system designs, collaborating with the engineering team to ensure projects are completed within schedule and budget constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to devise designs that seamlessly integrate electrical and mechanical systems
  • Provide internal technical support to the shop floor, encompassing the interpretation of internal and customer drawings and specifications
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, often with tight deadlines and competing priorities
Requirements
  • College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Over 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and design within a manufacturing or processing industry
  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD software
