About the Role:

At Canada Inc., we are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
  • Instructing apprentices.
  • Supervising other workers.
  • Estimating costs and materials.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Judgement and reliability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physical demands of the job include a combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment.
