About the Role:

The Occupational Therapist provides rehabilitation services under the supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services. The role involves collaborating with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal levels of function in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure. The therapist provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up while working within the hospital, client homes, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish individualized treatment plans and goals
  • Manage a busy caseload and prioritize issues on a daily basis
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers
  • Function as a member of an occupational therapy clinical team and an interprofessional hospital and/or community healthcare team
  • Contribute to the clinical education of OT students and related health disciplines
  • Adhere to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures and professional standards

About You:

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university. Licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is mandatory. Excellent communication skills, a commitment to promoting a culture of respect, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential requirements.
