Job Summary:

The Payroll and Benefits Clerk is a key member of the Langara College team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Prepare, distribute, and maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with collective agreements, College policies, employment standards, and governing agencies' acts and regulations.
  • Benefits Administration: Process enrolments and changes, maintain documentation, and communicate with Human Resources to ensure effective employee information processing.
  • Reporting and Remittances: Generate reports, calculate remittances, and respond to payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Human Resources to ensure seamless payroll and benefits administration, and communicate effectively with employees and management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education: Grade 12 and completion of the Canadian Payroll Association's Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of recent related payroll experience utilizing a computerized payroll program, preferably in a large multi-union environment.
  • Skills and Abilities: Intermediate level computer skills, ability to communicate effectively, multitask, and meet deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
