Job Title: Assistant Instructor, Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

BCIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a regular, full-time Assistant Instructor who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with broad practical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals. The successful applicant will provide lab and tutorial assistance across a broad range of the mechanical engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead labs and tutorials in areas such as Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals, Engineering Graphics, HVAC and Plumbing Design, and Manufacturing Processes.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum to students.
  • Provide excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English Language.
  • Work effectively in teams and independently.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related credential.
  • Relevant industry experience in an engineering environment.
  • Proficient in engineering computer applications, including strong CAD skills.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English Language.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
