About the Role:

The Patient Care Assistant assists healthcare staff in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-equipped patient care environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and cleaning medical equipment for patient use
  • Restocking bedside supplies
  • Transporting patients, medical specimens, charts, and supplies
  • Performing other duties as assigned by healthcare staff

About the Unit:

The Patient Care Assistant will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing support to patients and healthcare staff in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs. several times a day
  • High degree of motivation and good organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous training or recent experience in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and supplies
  • Good communication skills, able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to work as a team, work under supervision, or independently
