We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Dykstra Financial Management Inc. in Waterloo, ON.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $28.50 per hour for 35-40 hours of work per week.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and adhering to legal requirements.
  • Develop efficient systems for accounting financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies, and procedures.
  • Verify, allocate, and post transactions in subsidiary accounts.
  • Reconcile entries to balance subsidiary accounts.
  • Prepare cheques for payrolls, utility bills, taxes, and other expenses.
  • Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Prepare a trial balance and reconcile entries to balance the general ledger.
  • Filing documents and maintaining historical records.
  • Analyze and summarize account information to prepare financial reports.
  • Submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
  • Prepare tax returns and perform personal bookkeeping services.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in financial management.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
