About the Position:

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a skilled and reliable Conservatory Labourer to join our team on a seasonal basis. As a Conservatory Labourer, you will be responsible for performing manual labouring duties as assigned and, on occasion, may perform duties of a higher classification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual labouring duties as assigned
  • Operate hand held tools and equipment
  • Communicate effectively and follow instructions
  • Be health & safety conscious and attend work regularly
  • May be required to possess and maintain a valid Class "G" Ontario Drivers Licence or equivalent, meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation, provide a successful driver's record (uncertified), undergo a work fitness test and a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Two (2) years proven greenhouse experience in handling bedding out plants
  • Reliability, ability to perform manual labouring duties, operate hand held tools and equipment, communicate effectively, follow instructions, be health & safety conscious, and attend work regularly
