Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team at Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties, including assisting in surgeries, producing diagnostic imaging, and managing hospitalized patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary technology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ophthalmology.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in surgeries and other medical procedures
  • Produce diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound
  • Manage hospitalized patients, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and clients
Requirements
  • Animal Health Technology college diploma
  • Successful completion of VTNE
  • 1-2 years experience in a clinical setting
  • Good standing with licensing bodies (EVTA and NSVMA)
