Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist

VEP Mechanical Ltd is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As an apprentice sheet metal worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work at heights. You will be exposed to noisy and dusty conditions, and will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and a hard hat.

Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Operate plasma cutters
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication
  • Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
