About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a key role in advancing person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, implement, plan, evaluate, and support the application of existing and new clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice.
  • Demonstrate competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership, and professional practice.
  • Exhibit knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework that supports collaborative person-centered care within Nova Scotia Health.
  • Foster a culture of learning to build capacity and support the advancement of professional practice through the implementation of orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner-centered approach.
  • Provide advice, consultation, and support to advance practice, and to maintain and develop evidence-based standards of care, to optimize patient outcomes within the interprofessional care team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Masters in Nursing/Health Care/Education preferred.
  • Active practicing license in good standing with NSCN required.
  • Minimum three years full-time clinical nursing experience within last five years in Critical Care nursing required.
  • Relevant CNA/other specialty certification required or willing to complete.
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification required.
  • Recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor preferred.
  • Previous experience in education support, onboarding new staff, and transition to practice an asset.
  • Adult Education Program an asset or willing to complete.
  • Previous teaching experience which involves designing, implementing, and evaluating traditional & non-traditional methods of instruction preferred.
  • Recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in clinical practice & education.
  • Evidence of adult education theory & application and leadership development and/or experience in the last year.
  • Demonstrated initiative, effective interpersonal skills, communication skills & innovative problem-solving.
  • Skilled in the facilitation of concept-based learning, collaborative learning & practice development.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Suite & computer documentation systems.
  • Physical demands - setting up rooms, walking and standing, movement of educational resources/tools with facilities & across sites.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $49.80 - $59.44.
  • Annual salary range of $97,116 - $115,901.
