Job Summary:

The RK MacDonald Nursing Home is a leading Long-Term Care Home, providing exceptional care to 136 Residents and employing a team of approximately 250 staff members in various departments. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Current license with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia (CLPNS).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medication administration.
  • Recent experience in a geriatric setting is preferred.
  • Recent experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor of Certified Care Assistant (CCA) staff or equivalent is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification and annual updates.
  • Annual WHMIS certification.
