Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Director

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Director to join our team at PreCon Precast Limited. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned maintenance professional to lead our maintenance operations and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing maintenance team, ensuring they meet objectives and adhere to company guidelines.
  • Develop and implement shift schedules while managing labour resources to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment through compliance with company policies and Health and Safety Program.
  • Develop and maintain a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program/schedule to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Schedule internal and external work to optimize planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure safe completion of work that complies with manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of electro-mechanical systems are undertaken.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets for maintenance.
  • Manage the introduction of new machinery, plant, and equipment from specification to installation.
  • Manage disposal of obsolete machinery, plant, and equipment from agreement to removal and lawful disposal.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to maintain continuous production.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Develop, implement, and manage KPIs for each area of responsibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and machine performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree or MMP certificate preferred.
  • Minimum five years plant maintenance/facility maintenance experience with two years in a leadership capacity.
  • Extensive plant-level experience with significant proven people management experience.
  • Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/electrical/electronic discipline.
  • Familiarity with OHSA standards relating to industrial and construction operations.
  • Experience with PLC controls, PC's, PM, and TPM systems.
  • Experience in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.
