The Waste Depot Labourer is responsible for the safe handling, processing, and consolidation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the GFL Environmental Processing Facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents of York Region visiting the depot
  • Communicate effectively with York Regional employees and the public
  • Ensure thorough understanding of all on-site training documents
  • Receive and process MHSW from residents
  • Identify, sort, and pack MHSW into designated containers
  • Maintain clean grounds and facility
  • Follow supervisor instructions and adhere to safety protocols
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Report and maintain equipment in good working condition
  • Comply with all rules and regulations governing depot operations

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform moderately labour-intensive tasks
  • Physical fitness to lift +50lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
