We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Operations Coordinator to join our team at FAAS Architecture. Based in Calgary, we specialize in multi-residential projects across Alberta and British Columbia.

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will support the Controller in managing day-to-day financial operations and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of our finance department. Key responsibilities include processing accounts payable/receivable, preparing routine financial reports, maintaining accurate records, and supporting monthly and year-end closing processes.

Key Qualities:

  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining orderly records, files, and data entry processes.
  • Effective time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical thinking to identify errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and strong Excel skills.
  • Adaptability to handle varied tasks and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Team player who works well with colleagues and is responsive to feedback.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recognized degree or certificate in accounting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably with payroll knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience working in a similar support role within an accounting department.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and accurately manage multiple tasks.
  • Provide coverage for the Controller while unavailable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
