Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to join our team at BC Housing. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to complex research initiatives, analyzing data, and developing evidence-based policy recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to research projects, developing research frameworks, analyzing data, and producing reports, plans, and recommendations.
  • Apply advanced theoretical and conceptual frames, such as intersectionality and critical theory, to research projects.
  • Use software for qualitative data analysis, statistical analysis, and experience working with databases.
  • Work with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, to develop research projects and policy recommendations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Sciences, Urban Studies, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in research, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of the housing system, affordable housing sector, and related policies.
  • Ability to develop research documents, including literature reviews and manuscripts.
  • Ability to operationalize research projects, secure ethics approval, and evaluate ongoing research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and applying decolonized methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans – TCPS 2 and related BC Housing policies.
  • Ability to facilitate, engage, and present to stakeholders, including Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
