Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Drake International is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team in the Oakville area. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials into and out of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and prioritize inbound shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate with carriers
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitor and communicate carrier issues that may impact operations
  • Process and distribute accurate billing paperwork for carriers and courier drivers
  • Control the flow of work in the dispatch office and ensure accurate data entry into our WMS and TMS
  • Process customer orders and manage the shipping docks
  • Plan for shipment deliveries, containers, or LTL
  • Track outstanding shipments by contacting suppliers and/or freight dispatchers
  • Provide administrative support for CS, Inventory Analyst, and Transport Group as needed
  • Communicate with in-bound carriers to support customer, transportation, and operational objectives
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with shipping and receiving dock coordinators, coworkers, drivers, and office team members
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving
  • Professional designation (CITT or P. Log) is an asset
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Service-oriented with strong customer service skills and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
