Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Trades Helper to join our team at St.Amant. As a Trades Helper, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our business and operations. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide excellent customer service and support the maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the mechanical shop is kept clean and organized at the end of each day.
  • Retrieve work requests from our maintenance management system regularly throughout the day.
  • Respond to maintenance work orders as assigned by our Manager, Facility Services or Designate.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment and buildings, including mechanical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and welding.
  • Assist in the renovation of equipment and buildings.
  • Install, repair, and modify equipment as required.
  • Repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, lifts, and nutrition services equipment.
  • Perform yard maintenance, including snow removal when required.
  • Support our shop head and facility services coworkers to work as a team to provide clients and staff with a comfortable and safe living and working environment.
Requirements
  • Grade XII Diploma or Certificate.
  • Proficiency in the English language that enables the incumbent to complete any reading and writing requirements necessary to perform all aspects of the position in a safe and timely manner.
  • Four (4) years related work experience.
  • Experience with and operational knowledge of mechanical equipment and tools used in the maintenance of equipment and the facility, including basic plumbing and welding.
  • Ability to record data manually and using various software programs.
