About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Economic Development Specialist to join our team in Red Lake, Ontario.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating economic development activities, attracting new businesses, and promoting sustainable community growth. Key accountabilities include:

  • Developing knowledge of key industry growth sectors in the region and identifying prospective investment opportunities.
  • Preparing economic impact reports and implementing strategies to attract businesses and residents.
  • Creative marketing campaigns and presentations with stakeholders, community leaders, and potential investors.
  • Facilitating access to municipal processes and referrals to economic development support agencies.
  • Coordinating economic development and tourism activities between internal departments, external agencies, and neighboring communities.
  • Identifying and securing grant opportunities to fund economic development initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Community Economic Development, Urban Innovation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 3 years of economic development and relationship management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, including interpreting economic data and trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and project management.
