A Total Care Worker Opportunity at the Willow Pavilion

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Total Care Worker to join our interdisciplinary team at the Willow Pavilion, a Regional Tertiary Mental Health & Substance Use facility located on the Vancouver General Hospital Campus.

About the Role:
  • Provide exceptional care to older adults with acute deterioration or exacerbation of severe psychiatric symptoms and physical care needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and under the direction of the Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Social Worker to carry out individual or group leisure activities and established nursing/personal care programs.
  • Support patients and clients by selecting and carrying out activities, assisting with daily living skills, accompanying them on group outings, observing and reporting progress, participating in unit discussions, and performing nursing procedures such as administering suppositories and enemas.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be physically able to perform the duties of the position, and have the ability to organize work effectively. Experience working with older adults with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) is an asset.
