Job Title: Tax Senior Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior Manager to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax accounting, reporting, and compliance initiatives, as well as providing strategic input into business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead tax accounting, reporting, and compliance initiatives
  • Provide strategic input into business decisions
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies
  • Recommend business priorities and advise on resource requirements
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Develop new connections and build deeper networks
  • Work with stakeholders to establish priorities
  • Own internal/external stakeholder relationships
  • Define business requirements for analytics & reporting
  • Lead the execution of tax accounting reporting & compliance operational programs
  • Manage audits and prepare responses to queries
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of tax accounting, reporting & compliance programs
  • Support the maintenance of the database/records management of all required filings and other tax compliance activities
  • Research and identify position statements on current and proposed tax-related issues
  • Analyze data and information to provide taxation insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect and provide tax information
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Act as liaison between stakeholders to align agendas and ensure a clear understanding of the business context
  • Monitor compliance with tax policies, procedures, and controls
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service
Qualifications:
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Accounting designation required
  • Working knowledge in the application of corporate taxes for the assigned jurisdiction(s)/portfolio
  • Working knowledge in the application of tax accounting concepts
  • Working knowledge of specialized tax return software
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert

  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert

Salary:

$187,200.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
