About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our team at Scotian Gold Cooperative Limited. As a key member of our packaging department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our machinery to ensure efficient and high-quality production of our food products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Machinery: Safely operate and maintain our packaging machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Process and Package Food Products: Operate machinery to process and package food products, adhering to company standards and quality control procedures.
  • Perform Corrective Adjustments: Perform routine maintenance and corrective adjustments to machinery to ensure smooth operation and prevent malfunctions.
  • Record Production Information: Accurately record production information, including production levels, quality control data, and equipment performance.
  • Clean and Maintain Work Areas: Clean and maintain the packaging area, including equipment and surrounding workspaces, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Communicate with Supervisors: Inform supervisors of any mechanical malfunctions, product irregularities, or other issues that may impact production.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
  • Work Setting: Fruit and vegetable processing plant
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain attention to detail
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
