Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Executive Leader who will lead our organization in delivering quality education, training, and research services to over 127,000 Alberta Métis. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting strategic direction, implementing policies, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our institute.

This leadership role requires a proven track record in senior management or executive leadership, ideally in a non-profit, post-secondary, or Indigenous organization. A Master's degree is preferred, but not required. Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people.

Responsibilities
  1. Set strategic direction for RLI, aligned with our Mission and Vision
  2. Implement policies and procedures to ensure effective governance and management
  3. Oversee the financial function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  4. Develop and maintain partnerships with government, industry, and community stakeholders
  5. Maintain high levels of transparency and accountability in all aspects of the organization
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in senior management or executive leadership
  • Post-secondary degree in Management, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or related studies
  • Proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional strategic planning skills, including ability to establish short- and long-term plans
