Lycopodium is a leading engineering and project delivery services company with a global presence. Our Vancouver, BC office is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design and Project Management Specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

This role involves providing leadership and guidance to the design team, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and contributing to the development of engineers in training. The successful candidate will have experience in mineral processing or metallurgical plant design, strong technical aptitude, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the Role
  • Lead and manage design projects from conceptual stages to completion, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Oversee the review of vendor-certified documentation and provide input on design drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and implement design schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Foster effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide technical support for proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Qualifications
  • Qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or metallurgical plant design.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to initiate, lead, and manage change in a complex environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, including drawing preparation and interpretation.
