The Chief Security Risk Officer - Third Party Assurance will work closely with our technology teams and business stakeholders to mitigate security risks from partners, vendors, and other third-parties while enabling efficient and secure growth.

Main Activities:

  1. Conduct thorough third-party security risk assessments
  2. Monitor and report on third-party security risk action plans, engaging with third-party contacts and business stakeholders
  3. Maintain a third-party security risk management framework aligned with our risk management framework and privacy requirements
  4. Provide security input to third-party contracts, ensuring alignment with cyber security regulatory requirements and company policies
  5. Evaluate supplier-related cyber risk threat scenarios and assign risk ratings based on thorough reviews of the third party's security program and technical architecture
  6. Monitor third-party compliance programs, ensuring continuous compliance and evidence collection, validation, and recording

This role requires at least five years of information security and risk experience, including three years of hands-on third-party risk management experience and conducting third-party risk assessments. Experience in cloud shared responsibility models and risk mitigation techniques is also required.

A strong understanding of Canadian Financial industry regulations relevant to third-party security and privacy expectations is essential. Experience working in a banking or financial services environment is an asset.

Accountability:

  1. The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Manager, Information Security Risk Management
  2. The incumbent is accountable for formulating, developing, and drafting security policies, procedures, and documents while liaising with stakeholders to address information security concerns and obtain buy-in
  3. The incumbent manages security risk throughout the lifecycle, from identifying risk to explaining it to stakeholders and obtaining their buy-in for remediation
  4. The incumbent ensures the completeness and accuracy of periodic compliance reports submitted by IT functions
