About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Richmond, BC. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway systems.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair substation equipment, traction power supply systems, and related components.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair yard and mainline track, turnouts, expansion joints, switches, switch machines, restraining rails, propulsion rail, guideway structures, drainage, walkways, and fences.
  • Identify safety-critical defects and implement slow orders and other safety measures as set out in company processes.
  • Acquire and maintain technical proficiency in aspects of Canada Line systems and equipment, mechanical and trackwork to enable prompt response to operational issues.
  • Participate in productive maintenance initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Certified Red Seal Electrician.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in maintaining electrical power supply and distribution equipment, with high voltage experience and strong trouble-shooting skills, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Must be capable of maintaining Railborne Equipment Certification.
  • Valid class 5 BC driver's license.
Working Conditions

This position requires shift work (nights, weekends, and holidays) for continuous operation based on a 24/7 environment. Shifts will be awarded in accordance with the collective agreement shift bid process.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $42.61 hourly at Training Rate and $50.13 hourly at Qualified Rate after training, based on the compensation range of the Collective Agreement.
