Senior Molecular Diagnostics Specialist

As a Senior Molecular Diagnostics Specialist at William Osler Health System, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care through the performance of a range of tests and procedures related to immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.
Responsibilities- Test Performance: Conduct various molecular diagnostics tests, including DNA/RNA extraction, nucleic acid sequencing, and next-generation sequencing.
- Result Interpretation: Accurately interpret test results, ensuring high-quality data that informs patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Charge Technologist and Director to evaluate and implement new technologies, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
- Project Management: Participate in projects, validations, and proficiency testing as directed by senior leadership.
- Certification: Hold current registration with CMLTO and CSMLS certification.
- Experience: Possess experience in immunohistochemistry or molecular testing, with a strong background in clinical gene technologies.
- Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in single-gene testing by point-of-care PCR, quality assurance, quality control testing, and accreditation.
- Education: Have completed continuing education courses focused on immunohistochemistry and molecular testing within the past two years.
- Competitive Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
