Practice Opportunity

Interior Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. This exciting opportunity offers a diverse practice in a welcoming community setting with endless lifestyle possibilities.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Psychiatrists, providing consults to the pediatric unit, emergency department, and maintaining a community-based practice. This role offers flexibility with options for part-time or full-time work, including on-call requirements.

Key aspects of the position include:

  1. Community child and adolescent mental health services in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and community mental health services.
  2. Child & Adolescent Psychiatry community mental health and inpatient services.
  3. Developmental delay and mental health services.
  4. Private child and adolescent psychiatry services in the community.
  5. On-call coverage for the 12-bed general adult inpatient unit.

Our team is committed to providing quality psychiatric care to residents throughout the Kootenay Boundary region. Community work involves supporting family physicians, pediatricians, and child & youth mental health services. Opportunities for teaching locally placed UBC students and Family Medicine and Psychiatry residents are also available.

Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health's NAVIG8 Program, a comprehensive leadership development program for physicians.

We are seeking a passionate and hardworking psychiatrist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. The Trail/Rossland area offers a range of affordable living options.

Qualifications
  • Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC).
  • Doctorate in Medicine.
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). Mandatory coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Compensation

$300,000 - $500,000, plus MOCAP level 2.
