Join Our Team as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and families, providing high-quality psychiatric care and support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consults to the pediatric unit, the emergency department, and maintain a community-based practice
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and community mental health services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with developmental delay and mental health needs
  • Provide private child and adolescent psychiatry services in the community
  • Contribute to the development of a small Child and Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient unit
  • Teach and mentor locally placed UBC students and Family Medicine and Psychiatry residents
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Mandatory coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
