About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Team Member to join our team at Solly's Bagelry. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory treats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas and implementing quality control measures as needed.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance and support to ensure that all team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Production Scheduling: Draw up production schedules to ensure that all products are prepared and baked on time.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
Work Environment

The bakery team member will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: Will train.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
