Job Title: Intermediate Hydrogeologist or Environmental Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate Hydrogeologist or Environmental Engineer to join our team at Jp2g Consultants Inc. As a key member of our environmental services department, you will be responsible for managing environmental and engineering projects, providing technical input, and contributing to business development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Develop technical reports and project budgets in collaboration with the Department Manager
    • Work under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services Department to complete background documentation reviews, field investigations, data analysis, and report preparation
    • Supervise field investigations, including soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water sampling, and coordinate sample analysis with laboratories
    • Perform environmental monitoring or investigation and maintain a solid knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Project Management:
    • Prepare fee proposals and assign delegated tasks for content, quality, and completion
    • Ensure proper coordination of documents with other design disciplines and provide professional and reliable service delivery
    • Adhere to Jp2g's Quality Management System and Health and Safety program
  • Teamwork:
    • Collaborate with a team of project managers, engineers, and technologists to ensure project success
    • Attend coordination meetings with the design team and ensure proper coordination of documents
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, other consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Workload Management:
    • Conduct cross-disciplinary and quality control coordination
    • Maintain existing business and develop new business opportunities
    • Mentor junior staff and recommend training or coaching
Requirements:

7+ years of professional experience in environmental engineering, geoscience, or hydrogeology

University degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or Hydrogeology

Licensed by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) with P.Eng. or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) with P.Geo.

Valid Driver's license and eligible to obtain and maintain Level II Secret clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar program

Bilingual (English and French)

Previous experience as project manager and managing technical staff
