We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our care team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' health status, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care.
- Medication Administration and Management: Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, monitor residents' responses to treatment, and report any changes or concerns to the care team.
- Basic Care and Hygiene: Assist residents with daily living activities, provide basic care and hygiene support, and promote independence and dignity.
- Observation and Reporting: Monitor residents' behavior and reactions, report any changes or concerns to the care team, and provide timely updates on residents' health status.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with the care team, including nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Education: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Health, Assistance, and Nursing from a recognized school.
- Experience: Two (2) years' experience as an LPN.
- Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset; excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills; dynamic personality and self-confidence; autonomy, sense of initiative, flexibility, discretion, and empathy; ability to work under pressure; good observation skills and self-control; excellent critical-thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Language: Fluency in English; fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
