About the Role:

This EHS Manager position is responsible for leading and implementing effective environmental health and safety programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations, as well as experience in developing and authoring risk assessments, policies, and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leverage expertise to design and implement comprehensive EHS strategies that minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  2. Cultivate a culture of safety by collaborating with operations leaders to build a zero-injury environment and promote sustainability practices.
  3. Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide EHS programs, including conducting regular workplace surveys, safety audits, and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  4. Foster partnerships with stakeholders to address EHS requirements during facility expansions or changes.
  5. Drive Operational Excellence activities by focusing on EHS and Sustainability pillars.
  6. Promote employee engagement through EHS briefings, training sessions, and committee leadership.
  7. Apply problem-solving skills and root cause analysis to investigate incidents and prevent recurrence.
  8. Support pollution prevention and sustainability project identification and execution using common EHS tools and platforms.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a related field, such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in EHS management, with a proven track record of implementing effective programs and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Strong technical understanding of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations, including Canadian and Ontario-specific requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
