The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled Authorizations Technologist to join our team. As an Authorizations Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing technical evaluation and advisory services to support decisions on the sustainable use of natural resources.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate resource applications, plans, and proposals to ensure they meet legislative standards.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to support decision-making on natural resource management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Diploma or equivalent in the natural resource field, or a related field.
- Related experience working in natural resource management.
- Experience interpreting and/or applying natural resource management related acts and/or regulations.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
- Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
- Experience with permitting, cruising, and appraisals.
- Experience working with Resource Road Maintenance, Construction, Surveys.
- Experience with Waste and Residue Surveys.
- Experience in initiating First Nations consultation and engagement.
- Experience with client service (general public, stakeholders, First Nations).
