Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Staffing In Motion. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing full cycle accounting and tax services to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, including personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Prepare and file financial statements for investment holding companies, small Canadian operating companies, trusts, and charitable foundations.
  • Prepare and file quarterly family office reporting, including net worth statements, investment portfolio detail, and quarterly performance reports.
  • Prepare and file T1 personal tax, T2 corporation tax, T3 inter vivos trust, and estate tax returns.
  • Calculate Capital Dividend Account (CDA) balances, General Rate Income Pool (GRIP) balances, and Refundable Dividend Tax on Hand (RDTOH) balances.
  • Prepare and file T3010 charity returns and GST/HST returns.
  • Prepare and file T1135 foreign income verification disclosures.
  • Prepare and file paralegal corporation minutes and resolutions.
  • Prepare and file T4 summary and supplementary forms, including payroll calculations, records of employment, and remittance of at source deductions.
  • Calculate tax estimates and annual tax instalments and coordinate remittances to respective governments.
  • Review Notices of Assessment and respond to government Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Communicate with clients and third parties regarding preparing or gathering information and concerning remittances, instalments, progress of files, and inquiries.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant who possesses a strong working knowledge of Canadian GAAP and has full cycle Canadian accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have advanced computer skills, including modeling using Microsoft Excel (MACROS) and MS Outlook VBA, and experience with accounting and tax software applications, such as Tax Prep (T1 T2 T3), Caseview, Quickbooks, Quicken, and Writeup.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will possess a CPA designation and a minimum of 3 years of experience in full accounting cycle, including public accounting experience, including the preparation of Canadian personal/corporate tax returns and the compilation of Financial Statements.

Remuneration

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000, with a retention bonus. We also offer a full health and pension program, wellness, and personal time off policy.
