Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Alberta Certified Teacher to join our team at the York Region District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering project-based learning experiences that promote high student engagement, critical thinking, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement unit plans that align with Alberta curriculum outcomes, incorporating topics such as logic, hypothesizing, and predicting answers.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop a variety of inquiry and solution skills, promoting cross-disciplinary thinking and critical thinking.
  • Regularly communicate with families to involve them in their child's learning, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work towards improving the learning experience for all students, ensuring that instruction is tailored to meet the needs of individual students and groups.
Requirements
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education
  • Understanding of different teaching methodologies and multiple intelligences
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a supportive learning environment
  • Commitment to working as a team member in a collaborative setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based education
  • Knowledge of technology-enhanced learning tools and strategies
  • Passion for building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
