Wallguard Systems is seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our team as a carpenter. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • 3-4 people supervised
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
