About the Role

TransAlta is seeking a highly skilled Settlements Analyst to join our Energy Trading & Marketing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, remittance, and payments for our energy trading activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all settled trading activities and counterparty/pool-related transactions are invoiced and paid by designated deadlines.
  • Collaborate with credit, cash management, accounting, and AP teams to facilitate prompt payments.
  • Monitor receivables to ensure timely receipt and proper allocation of payments, following up with customers on outstanding balances.
  • Accountable for month-end close responsibilities, including preparing monthly general ledger account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Troubleshoot SAP issues, including testing system upgrades and patches, and resolve integration challenges between SAP, Allegro, AP, and Settlement Pool reconciliation tools.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in energy marketing, commodities trading, or the power industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in finance, commerce, accounting, or a related business field.
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a proven track record of handling multiple tasks, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
  • Strong relationship management skills, adept at building and maintaining cross-functional, collaborative partnerships.
